Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Office Assistant I for the OBGYN/Community Womens Care team in Worcester, MA. This role provides clinical support and clerical assistance to ensure efficient clinic operations, patient flow, and quality care.

The MA I will perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and assist with exams under supervision. Data entry and insurance pre-authorization duties are part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medical Assistant credential required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• BLS/HS certification required or within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare/ administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical exams and clinical procedures.
• Review labs and communicate critical results to providers.
• Maintain patient records and coordinate with insurers for pre-authorizations.
• Collect co-payments and manage related records.
