Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite Mechanical/Equipment Technician in the Tucson area to fabricate, assemble, install, diagnose, repair and modify hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum and gas systems on test equipment. The role requires three years of hands-on shop experience and the ability to work Fri–Sun 6:00 AM–6:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

The position emphasizes blueprints, sketches and drawings, test reporting, and coordination with engineers. U.S.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
Three years experience in layout, fabrication, assembly, checking, and testing of hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic and refrigeration equipment.
Must pass a qualifying/practical test.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Performs fabrication, assembly, installation, diagnosis, repair and modification on hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum, and gas systems.
Performs functional and operational tests to check out units.
Coordinates with engineers on planning and modifications to equipment.
Makers sketches or diagrams to aid in modifications.
Writes reports of tests and recommends refinements.
Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
Uses hand tools and power tools; operates lathes, mills, drills, grinders, etc.
Works from design drawings and instructions requiring interpretation.
