SteerBridge, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager for Mechanical Engineering to oversee mechanical systems across VA medical facility projects in Huntington, WV.

This full-time, onsite role requires managing planning, design review, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout with a strong focus on patient safety and operational continuity. Applicants should hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, be a U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required for federal contract work and able to obtain DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management, scheduling, and document management software.
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and VA PIV badge.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the Government’s owner’s representative for mechanical engineering across planning, design review, procurement, construction, commissioning/acceptance, and closeout, focusing on patient safety and continuity of operations in occupied healthcare facilities.
• Review plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, change requests, contractor proposals, and schedules for completeness and contract compliance.
• Evaluate mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping, central plant, controls, ventilation, steam) and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate with VA staff, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical and administrative issues.
• Participate in constructability reviews, site investigations, phasing discussions, value management, schedule reviews, and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor performance through site observations and document reviews; track deficiencies and ensure alignment with plans and VA requirements.
• Evaluate proposed changes, cost/schedule impacts, contractor claims, and corrective-action strategies.
• Maintain accurate project records, logs, meetings, and correspondence as per VA and contract requirements.
