Job summary

SteerBridge is hiring a Construction Manager – Electrical Engineer (CM-EE) to support VA medical facility projects in Wilmington, DE. You will serve as the government’s owner’s representative for electrical engineering across planning, design, procurement, construction, testing, and closeout.

This full-time onsite role requires licensure and at least six years of design and construction experience, plus strong communication and software skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree and active professional licensure
• Minimum of six years of experience in both design and construction
• Ability to understand and apply local, state, and federal requirements and electrical codes
• Strong communication and software skills, including ability to monitor and produce documents
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and VA PIV badge

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner’s representative for electrical engineering on all project phases
• Provide construction management and technical support during planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
• Review plans, specs, RFIs, change requests and contractor proposals for completeness and compliance
• Evaluate field conditions and electrical systems; identify deficiencies and risks; provide practical recommendations
• Coordinate with VA staff, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues
• Participate in planning reviews, site investigations, and risk assessments
• Monitor contractor performance and maintain project records and logs
• Support evaluation of changes and cost impacts and ensure VA requirements are met
• Ensure patient safety and infection control during construction in occupied facilities
