Job summary

nVent is seeking a Materials Planner for our Pittsburg, KS site to ensure the smooth flow of materials across manufacturing. You will monitor inventory, analyze requirements, maintain BOMs, and coordinate with subcontractors to support on-time production.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 2+ years of planning or manufacturing experience, with strong ERP/MRP proficiency (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Collaboration across departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of materials planning, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Advanced Excel and reporting tools proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain material inventory levels to support production schedules and customer demand.
• Analyze material requirements and generate reports for procurement and production teams.
• Maintain accurate BOMs, inventory records, and ERP/MRP data.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors to timely deliver raw materials and resolve issues.
• Identify shortages, overages, and obsolescence and address them proactively.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Logistics to align with schedules.
• Conduct root cause analysis of material variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Track CFE materials and communicate with project management on CFE.
• Assist in cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Provide forecasting and demand planning support based on data and trends.
