Job summary

MPG, a Dover Corporation company, is seeking a Material Planner to oversee scheduling and control of engineering and production orders in Salisbury, MD. You will coordinate procurement, manage MRP, and optimize inventory to support on-time delivery for government, military and commercial customers.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with ERP/MRP systems, and ability to communicate with purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing teams to align with company strategy.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business related field or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of demonstrated experience in inventory operations and control.
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office applications and using a MRP system.
• Knowledge of APIC’s materials management concepts and principles, MRP calculations, capacity planning, production planning and shop floor controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage MRP; complete part masters reflecting current purchasing/ manufacturing practices.
• Complete bills of material to reflect current manufacturing practices.
• Ensure routings reflect current manufacturing practices.
• Expedite late or critical orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage material allocations for shop orders and customer requirements.
• Work with Sales and Manufacturing to communicate shortages affecting release of shop orders or deliveries.
• Generate shop order packages and release to the stockroom for picking and issue.
• Determine best location for assembly of each shop order.
• Generate all export paperwork and purchase orders required to ship shop orders.
• Expedite completion of shop orders across locations.
• Generate and manage all plating orders.
• Manage cycle count program and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure sufficient floor stock and plan receipts to optimize inventory levels.
