Job summary

Qualifications

• Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years planning experience in a related industry.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare material schedules for manufacture of military or commercial products.
• Establish sequence and lead time of each material to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
• Analyze material shortages and requirements from MRP system.
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counting.
• Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
• Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
• Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
• Notify Sales/Production of any schedule impacts as a result of material delays.
• Coordinate/expedite material to ensure schedules are achieved.
• Complete status reports, such as materials inventory.
• Assist with correcting inventory as required.
• Organize subcontracted material to the vendor.
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
