Job summary

American Pan Company is seeking a Safety Specialist for Manufacturing to oversee safety programs on the production floor, ensure compliance with OSHA rules, and eliminate hazards. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires full-time on-site work, with occasional travel to other company sites.

You will develop and monitor safety protocols, manage truck operator certification, and lead investigations and training programs to foster a safety-first culture across manufacturing locations.

• OSHA 30-hour certification required
• Experience with OSHA in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge in developing and implementing training programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor programs to ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA’s General Industry Rules & Regulations.
• Administer the Powered Industrial Truck operator’s certification program.
• Maintain OSHA record keeping and training across various programs (lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, injury reporting).
• Conduct OSHA site inspections and audits to identify hazards and determine corrective actions.
• Perform equipment inspections and oversee safety with mechanical presses, laser manufacturing, welding and related processes.
• Lead accident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation activities with Human Resources.
• Support safety culture initiatives and align training across locations.
• Organize facility-wide emergency drills and maintain alarms and warning systems.
• Stay current on OSHA training requirements and environmental reporting for each site.
