Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for its Marion, IN operation. The role focuses on designing and refining manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, and implementing robust process control systems.

You will lead process initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/chemical/materials background, 4–7 years of relevant experience, and Six Sigma expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials, or Ceramic Engineering required.
• 4-7 years of manufacturing experience, especially in commissioning new equipment.
• Strong problem-solving mentality with focus on process improvement.
• Proficiency in process control and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes or improve existing ones.
• Solve problems and enhance processes using structured problem-solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma.
• Implement Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations.
• Analyze process data using statistical tools like pareto analysis, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, and gauge R&R.
• Measure and communicate performance against established objectives.
• Review and interpret data to recommend immediate actions, long-term corrective actions, and follow-up experiments.
• Document processes and train operators and peers on defined processes.
