Job summary

Telemetry & Communications Systems, Inc. (TCS) is seeking a motivated Planner to join our Chatsworth, CA manufacturing team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the planner will schedule, coordinate, and oversee production activities across multiple product lines to ensure timely delivery and optimal use of resources. The ideal candidate will have 0–2 years in production planning, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Costpoint, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in production planning or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools; Costpoint experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Manufacturing Orders, work orders, production scheduling, inventory management, and material requirements.
• Ability to create, issue, manage, monitor, and relieve Manufacturing Orders accurately and efficiently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify scheduling, material, inventory, and production issues.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage Manufacturing Orders (MOs) for production and engineering-related products.
• Ensure MO details (quantities, materials, operations, schedules) are accurate.
• Monitor MO progress to keep jobs on schedule and complete on time.
• Relieve and close MOs after production finishes with complete documentation.
• Generate production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory, capacity, and priorities.
• Plan functional product lines with production requirements, priorities, and resources.
• Monitor inventory levels and material needs to support schedules and minimize shortages.
• Assist with Purchase Order management by tracking open POs and material due dates.
• Manage and monitor production jobs from release to completion in the planning system.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality and others to resolve issues.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and adjust plans for demand changes, materials, or capacity.
• Support Operations Manager with various production-related tasks and projects.
