Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Production Planner for an established manufacturer in Buena Park, CA. The role owns analytical planning translating demand, inventory, WIP, and capacity into an executable plan and daily priorities.

You will work with MRP/ERP systems and advanced Excel reporting to release and sequence orders while balancing capacity, lead times, and commitments. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, data-driven, and capable of turning complex manufacturing data into clear,

Qualifications

Experience in production planning and materials/demand planning in a manufacturing environment.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with multi-tab models using complex formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL, Power Query.
Experience with Infor SyteLine/CloudSuite Industrial or comparable ERP platforms.
Experience in capacity planning or constraint-based scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review MRP output, planned orders, and demand/supply changes to maintain a valid production plan.
Release and sequence work orders based on net demand while balancing FG, WIP, setup, and inventory.
Manage live WIP planning and set daily priorities by work center and program requirements.
Analyze ERP and production data to identify at-risk orders and bottlenecks; build models and reports.
Maintain ERP/MRP parameters (order policies, lot sizes, safety stock, lead times) and monitor schedule attainment.
Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to align material, tooling, and capacity for new products and ramp-ups.
