Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an Operations Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Test & Electromechanical Systems) to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for design, integration, and maintenance of test equipment and electromechanical systems supporting manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on leadership with expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software systems to drive quality, reliability, and equipment uptime across multiple product lines within the Data Links

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience leading test and electromechanical systems in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and develop a team of test, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Oversee design, prototyping, testing, and deployment of test and electromechanical systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Establish and standardize engineering processes, documentation, and best practices for equipment design, validation, and maintenance.
• Support smart manufacturing initiatives and Industry 4.0 technologies to boost productivity and data visibility.
• Manage capital projects involving test solutions, automation, or process upgrades.
• Define and monitor KPIs related to equipment uptime and ROI.
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for test solutions.
