Dover Precision Components (DPC) in Odessa, TX is seeking a Manual Machinist to operate manual machines and perform set ups, inspections, and process improvements in a valve shop. You will read drawings, use measuring tools, and maintain accurate production records.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years of manual machining experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and technical training in shop math and blueprint reading. On-site role with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manual machines in a gas compression valve shop.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school or on-the-job training to become proficient in most phases of the job.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to learn the job.
• 0–5 years of experience as a manual machinist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates one or more manual machines to perform routine machining operations from drawings, sketches and specifications.
• Performs machine set ups to obtain close tolerances and proper fitting/alignment of machined parts.
• Obtains inspections on first pieces and on in-process work using a wide range of measuring devices.
• Maintains records of time, piece counts, first piece inspections, and requisition forms for each job.
• Makes jigs, fixtures or other specialized non-production devices as assigned; ensures safe and orderly work area.
