Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Odessa, Texas, is seeking a Valve and Packing Inspector to read and interpret drawings, perform precision cleaning and fitting, and verify parts to tight tolerances. You will calibrate instruments, record inspection data, and collaborate with a lead inspector to resolve non-conformances.

Qualifications

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.
Perform cleaning, fitting, filing, tapping, reaming, blending, polishing and aligning to ensure proper operation of movable parts.
Set-up and calibrate precision measuring equipment and measure parts to tolerances of +/- .0002".
Record data and complete inspection reports; release product for shipment.
Identify problems and initiate ECN as needed.
