Job summary

Job Corps in San Jose is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to support multiple trade areas, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and general building upkeep. You will follow safety protocols and use PPE to protect students and staff.

Responsibilities include preparing reports in CMMS, performing preventive maintenance, and guiding maintenance tasks while ensuring confidentiality and timely reporting of incidents. Valid driver's license preferred; willingness to transport as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience in electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.
• Certificate of completion from building trades training program or apprenticeship program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and enter data in CMMS.
• Maintain confidentiality and report significant events to ensure safety and required reporting.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE.
• Provide prompt assistance to students in case of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
• Perform interior/exterior maintenance and carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical tasks as needed.
• Direct the work activities of maintenance staff and attend required trainings.
