Job summary

Encompass Community Services in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of on-site repairs and upkeep for our facilities. You will handle electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and routine maintenance to keep properties safe and functional.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years related experience in maintenance services.
• Demonstrate ability in general construction and power tool knowledge.
• Must have and keep a good driving record. Valid Driver's License and clean DMV report.
• Organized and a self-starter with attention to details.
• Must demonstrate good record and time keeping skills and be computer literate.
• Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
• Ability to be a team player, and take direction.
• Exhibit an ability to operate effectively in a culturally diverse workplace.

Responsibilities

• Basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Perform all aspects of painting, drywall patching, texturing, caulking.
• Perform unit turnovers (move-ins, move-outs, inspections).
• Perform routine landscaping and janitorial tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance by outside contractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.).
• Other duties/tasks as assigned.
