Job summary

Huhtamaki Group in Hammond, IN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a 20+ person maintenance team, oversee safety and compliance, and drive plant improvement projects. The role requires strong welding, electrical, PLC, and troubleshooting skills, with hands-on maintenance across machinery and processes.

You will coordinate with production, review work orders, and ensure PMs and unplanned downtime are minimized, while developing standard operating procedures and training staff.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required and proficient in plant maintenance
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Electrical experience including PLCs and PC-based controls
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Lead maintenance team across departments and manage schedules
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (Mainsaver) for work orders and reports
• Forklift/scissor boom lift operation and safety certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Observe, promote, and administer Safety, Food Safety, and company policies.
• Schedule daily maintenance tasks and supervise 20+ personnel.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to maintenance and manufacturing staff.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and specifications for equipment.
• Lead major plant asset maintenance and improvements.
• Develop and review work instructions and SOPs for equipment care.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and drive on-time completion of work orders.
