Job summary

Huhtamaki, Inc. is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to support electrical, instrumentation, and PLC systems in a manufacturing environment in Hammond, Indiana. The role focuses on installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting to ensure reliable plant operations.

The candidate will read schematics and diagrams, coordinate maintenance planning, and work in a high-noise, physically demanding setting. Weekend and on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 10+ years hands-on experience in instrumentation/electrical in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends, overtime, holidays, and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, PLC, and electrical systems for reliable plant operations.
• Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems including I/O, power supplies, and field devices.
• Calibrate instrumentation using a HART device when required.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Rockwell ControlLogix systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose complex electrical issues.
• Read electrical schematics and blueprints to support modifications and repairs.
• Plan maintenance activities, coordinate labor, and manage materials.
