Job summary

Penn National Insurance seeks a Loss Control Consultant to perform on-site loss control surveys and virtual meetings for commercial accounts within Alabama. The role requires understanding operations, hazards, and safety programs, with travel and field visits essential.

The candidate should have a safety/engineering background and relevant loss control certifications, plus at least 1 year of related experience. Strong communication and client-facing skills are needed and travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, science or engineering preferred.
• Continuing education through specialty courses such as AL cM and ARM and certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH or OHST preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in property/casualty loss control, conducting loss control surveys and performing some loss control consulting work on written accounts required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site loss control surveys and virtual meetings for commercial lines accounts.
• Visit facilities to assess operations, hazards, and safety program effectiveness.
• Evaluate compliance with OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI and local codes.
• Provide loss control consulting services to written accounts and training as needed.
• Perform basic Industrial Hygiene and Health surveys (noise, ergonomics).
• Develop and discuss recommendations with customers to improve conditions.
