Job summary

DMF Lighting is seeking a Technical Support Engineer (Lighting & Controls) to serve as the primary contact for customers needing technical assistance with lighting fixtures and digital controls. The role includes troubleshooting, documenting steps, and escalating complex issues to engineering.

A foundational knowledge of lighting and electrical systems is preferred, with limited travel (25%). The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a customer-facing role and an Associate's degree or technical

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical school certification in electronics, electrical technology, or related field.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably in technical support, field service, or inside sales.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, LED lighting, and troubleshooting techniques; experience with lighting control systems (DMX, 0-10V) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for technical inquiries via phone, email, live chat, or ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic product issues related to installation, configuration, and performance of LED fixtures and lighting control systems.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to sales teams and end-users.
• Document customer interactions and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to engineering and track progress until resolution.
• Maintain internal knowledge base articles and documentation for common issues.
• Stay up-to-date with new product launches, specifications, and industry standards through training.
