Job summary
General Motors is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Flint Truck Assembly Paint Shop. You will oversee all process engineering functions, provide direct leadership to a team of Process Engineers across a full three-shift operation, and drive continuous improvement in pre‑treat, E‑coat, sealer automation, primer and topcoat areas.
You will own all paint shop processes, coordinate maintenance, manage ISO 9001 documentation, and lead color launches and program activities to ensure production readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in electrical or computer engineering with 5+ years in industrial automation or controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Process Engineers and paint technicians across all shifts.
- Own technical authority for Paint Shop processes, equipment, and standards.
- Drive optimization of throughput and maintain equipment uptime with cross-functional teams.
- Manage ISO 9001 documentation, process controls, and audit readiness.
- Oversee color launches, trials, and pilot builds; manage experiments from planning to execution.
- Lead OPEX initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality and stability.
