Job summary

Core Group is seeking a Process Engineer for Paint Operations & Robotics on the 3rd shift. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing E-coat, sealing, topcoat and robotic painting systems in a high-volume facility.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 3+ years in automotive/industrial paint manufacturing, and strong problem-solving. Expect involvement in equipment installation, startup, and continuous improvement efforts onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift.
• 3+ years in automotive or industrial paint manufacturing operations.
• Experience with electrocoating (E-coat), industrial paint application, and robotic painting systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to lead technical projects and coordinate cross-functional engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of paint process engineers and technicians.
• Oversee paint manufacturing processes (E-coat, sealing, topcoat) and robotic systems.
• Lead paint line design, equipment installation, commissioning, startup and launches.
• Monitor and optimize coating quality, process chemistry, and equipment uptime.
• Troubleshoot defects, process variations, and equipment issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Manage projects with budgets, schedules, and capital expenditures.
• Establish process controls, SOPs, and performance standards.
• Support plant layout, line balancing, and labor optimization.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety standards.
• Provide technical leadership during new product introductions and expansions.
