Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer for the Flint Truck Assembly Paint Shop. You will oversee all process engineering functions and lead a team across three shifts, ensuring quality and reliability in pre-treat, E-Coat, sealer, priming, and topcoat areas.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and at least 5 years in industrial automation; proficiency in PLCs, HMI, and robotics is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years in industrial automation or controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Process Engineers and paint technicians across shifts.
• Own technical authority for Paint Shop processes, equipment, and standards.
• Drive throughput improvement and production efficiency initiatives.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance with cross-functional teams to maximize uptime.
• Manage ISO 9001 documentation and audit readiness.
