Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Clinical Social Worker LCSW for the Cancer Center – Ambulatory Oncology. This full-time, day shift position provides biopsychosocial assessments, counseling, and discharge planning for patients and families navigating cancer care.

You will collaborate with physicians, care coordinators, and other health professionals to remove barriers to treatment, document evaluations per regulatory requirements, and support patients through discharge.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work required.
• Current MA Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure required.
• Experience with psychosocial assessment, discharge planning and a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical service to patients and families—biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning and counseling.
• Identifies clinical resources and makes referrals when necessary.
• Collaborates with physicians, care coordinators, discharge planners and other health professionals to address discharge barriers.
• Advocates for patients and families to navigate the health care system for effective care and planning.
• Documents information for evaluation, assessment and disposition to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintains professional standards and regular attendance; adheres to department policies.
