Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring an LICSW for oncology ambulatory services on a 24-hour per week Day Shift (Monday–Friday). The social worker will perform psychosocial assessments, counseling, and care coordination to support treatment engagement and quality of life.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the oncology team, addressing transportation and financial barriers, and educating staff on social determinants of health.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a health/mental health setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in fast-paced settings.
• Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical consultations, psychosocial evaluations, and interventions in the oncology ambulatory setting.
• Supports patients and families with counseling and adjustment throughout the cancer care continuum.
• Coordinates referrals to community resources and hospital services as needed.
• Educates staff and trainees about psychosocial barriers to care and treatment engagement.
• Advocates for patients within the health care system and supports discharge planning.
