Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an IT Help Desk professional for a fully onsite contract position based in San Antonio, TX. The role runs through the end of 2026 and involves delivering exceptional IT service to customers, resolving technical issues, and supporting office-wide hardware and software deployments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in IT customer service, solid knowledge of Windows/Mac OS and Office, and familiarity with hardware such as laptops, desktops, printers, and devices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years IT customer service experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware including laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, fax machines and iDevices.
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN switches.
• Experience supporting executive level staff; high level of customer service required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service while fulfilling IT customer requests or resolving IT customer problems.
• Respond to requests for technical support in a timely, professional manner and facilitate immediate resolution when possible.
• Perform installations, upgrades, and decommission of IT equipment used by the workforce (laptops, desktops, MFPs, fax machines, mobiles).
• Follow team policies, processes and procedures.
• Provide technical support and assist IT customers in the use of hardware and software.
• Resolve routine hardware and software problems using diagnostic tools; engage other departments for complex issues.
• Image and configure workstations per SOPs.
• Provide technical support to board members and corporate officials for devices/software as needed.
• Provide infrequent hands-on support to other departments during implementations and problem resolution.
• Provide timely updates to incident, request and problem management system.
