Gunderson Dettmer seeks an experienced Technical Support Specialist to provide on-site IT support in Redwood City, CA. You will handle hardware, software, network, and video conferencing systems, and serve as the primary contact for end users in the office.

Ideal candidates are strong communicators with solid troubleshooting skills, self-directed, and able to train users. This full-time role requires reliability and a customer-focused mindset in a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience supporting Windows desktop environments and Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience in professional services environment preferred.
• MCSE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to user requests by phone, email, in person, and remote tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computers, printers, telephony, video conferencing, networking, and applications.
• Provide technical support for setup, configuration, maintenance, and delivery of hardware and software.
• Train users and team members on hardware, software, and IT processes.
• Write, edit, and maintain knowledge base articles.
• Assist with onboarding of new users.
• Install, test, and configure laptops, peripherals, and software.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, software, and licenses.
• Set up conference rooms for audio and video conferencing.
• Escalate network and system issues to IT staff as needed.
