Job summary

Insight in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Services Technician to install, modify, repair, test, and service systems and communications equipment on-site. You will work with hardware, peripherals, software configuration, and cabling, supporting both internal teammates and clients.

A Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience is expected; familiarity with Windows environments, imaging tools like Ghost, SCCM, and vendor websites for updates is ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience; LANs, WANs, PCs, messaging and server software experience required.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to perform testing and documentation when requested.
• Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems and vendor diagnostics.
• Minimum of one year hardware troubleshooting experience (laptops/desktops) for Tier One vendors.
• A+ certification and at least one vendor hardware certification required.
• Minimum of one year bench and/or on-site service technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs hardware and peripheral repairs with focus on minimizing client downtime.
• Installs and tests system hardware, identifies problems, and follows instructions.
• Completes client build documentation and returns defective parts per policy.
• Unpacks/packs devices and follows written/verbal instructions.
• Installs and configures network equipment like switches, routers, firewalls, VPN devices.
