Job summary

Fortra seeks an onsite IT Operations Engineer to support employees and workplace technology in our Minnesota office. You will manage endpoints, core infrastructure, and user enablement while aligning with IT standards and security policies.

You will coordinate with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Cloud teams to resolve complex issues, mentor the Service Desk, and continuously improve processes for efficiency and user experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise IT environments in a technical support role.
• Proficiency across Windows, macOS, Linux, office suites, and common applications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 admin, AD, Exchange, MFA and Azure.
• Understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer).
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Azure Fundamentals are desirable.
• Ability to communicate complex tech clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite IT support resource for employees and office tech.
• Maintain core IT infrastructure services including DNS, SSO, VMs, networking, printing.
• Administer EUC tools, endpoint management, software deployment, ticketing, and automation.
• Manage workstation lifecycle: provisioning, imaging, deployment, upgrades, asset tracking.
• Ensure software licensing compliance and apply OS and app updates.
• Act as SME within Service Desk, guiding operational excellence and improvements.
• Troubleshoot end-user hardware, software, mobile devices, and business apps.
• Handle user accounts, access, identity management, onboarding/offboarding.
• Deliver new hire tech orientations and user training.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Cloud, and other teams.
• Provide onsite support for conference rooms, AV, and office tech.
• Identify process improvements and automate repetitive tasks.
• Participate in project planning, testing, and deployment of tech solutions.
• Continuously refine processes and docs to improve service quality.
