Job summary
Liberty Science Center is seeking a full-time Technology Support Specialist IT/AV to join the Technology Services team in Jersey City. The role provides hands-on support for computer systems, software, AV, and hardware, ensuring reliable operations for staff, guests, and events.
The position requires diagnosing issues, documenting resolutions, and escalating to higher-level teams as needed. It reports to the Associate Directors of IT Operations and AV Operations and involves collaboration with
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on IT and/or AV support in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- College degree or equivalent education in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with IT service management, ticketing systems, and incident escalation workflows.
Responsibilities
- Provide up to Level 2 onsite IT and AV support for staff, guests, and event attendees.
- Coordinate with MSP and internal teams to escalate and resolve issues.
- Set up and test staff computers, phones, devices, and Tessitura POS stations.
- Maintain inventory records and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android systems.
