Job summary

RTX is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Level 2 for an onsite role in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Active DoD Secret clearance required on day one; U.S. citizenship required.

You will support cybersecurity operations for classified information systems and collaborate with IT, Facilities, and Industrial Security teams. Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required on day one.
• IAM Level I certification compliant with DoD 8570/8140.
• Experience in cybersecurity monitoring, detection, and analysis in DoD/enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of network security, logging, access controls, and incident detection.
• Ability to document findings, audit results, and response actions.
• Experience with SIEMs (Splunk preferred), IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and network monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support cybersecurity implementation and maintenance of assigned information systems under ISSM guidance.
• Process and review data transfer requests ensuring security controls and authorization requirements.
• Assist with user accounts and access requests following RBAC policies.
• Perform continuous monitoring: review logs, validate controls, identify anomalies.
• Conduct system auditing and log reviews to detect policy violations or security events.
• Develop and update cybersecurity documentation, security plans, and POA&Ms for audits.
• Track and close POA&Ms from audits and monitoring activities.
• Report security issues and findings to ISSM or senior staff.
• Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and Industrial Security to apply requirements.
• Support inspections and audits with required documentation.
