Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Columbus, MS is seeking an On-Site Service Specialist to deliver outstanding customer service while managing inventory and MSC ControlPoint solutions at a large customer location.

You'll support procurement, ordering, and VMI/vending programs, log activities in SFDC, maintain 6S standards, and collaborate with account teams to drive satisfaction and growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of experience in telephone sales, outside sales, storeroom/inventory management, or customer service.
• Knowledge of technical customer solutions.
• Proven track record of success and strong performance.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of MSC solutions, products, and services.

Responsibilities

• Manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions, including VMI and vending.
• Perform ordering, product put-away, and inventory optimization.
• Promote MSC customer loyalty through CARE program.
• Maintain 6S standards across solution equipment and areas.
• Log daily activities in Salesforce (SFDC).
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure solution retention and satisfaction.
• Lead repair and maintenance of vending equipment to standards.
• Use routing software to follow planned schedules and document activities.
• Mentor less experienced associates and promote MSC culture.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory management solutions.
