Luna Innovations in Blacksburg, VA is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to own the accuracy of on-hand inventory across the stockroom and warehouse, driving cycle counts, reconciliation, and process improvement while partnering with Purchasing, Production Planning, and Quality.

This role works under the direction of the site manufacturing leader and supports inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting matters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in inventory control or related manufacturing support.
• Experience with cycle counting and ERP transactions.
• Ability to work with Purchasing and Planning on forecast-driven replenishment.
• AS or BS degree is a plus.
• Attention to detail and reliability.
• Basic computer skills; MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts and manage count calendar.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
• Process ERP transactions for receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
• Maintain min/max and reorder points and monitor against forecasts.
• Coordinate full physical inventories and variance reporting.
• Track lot, serial, and expiration dates for traceability.
• Identify obsolete inventory and manage disposition/write-offs.
• Maintain bin/location records and lead warehouse audits.
• Apply ABC classification to set count frequency and control rigor.
• Track and report inventory KPIs to manufacturing and finance.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Production Planning, and Quality to resolve issues.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and data.
