Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing equipment installation, commissioning, automation, or industrial project execution.
Previous experience as Onsite Lead, Installation Lead, Team Lead, Project Manager, or similar role.
Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary onsite interface between the equipment manufacturer and Tesla during installation and commissioning.
Oversee installation and commissioning across ~1,000 machining cells and conveyor/feeder systems.
Manage equipment arrivals at various stages, including testing or on-site commissioning.
Track milestones against a tight schedule and identify risks/delays.
Own open issues and drive stakeholders toward resolution.
Coordinate with installation, electrical, automation, mechanical, and commissioning teams on the floor.
Provide concise status updates and communicate progress, priorities, risks, and escalations to client management.
Maintain strong client-manufacturer communication to manage expectations and protect project interests.

Description

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for aProject Manager / Onsite Lead to support a large-scale manufacturing equipment installation and commissioning project. This is a 100% onsite, hands‑on leadership role supporting the installation and commissioning of approximately 1,000 machining cells, along with conveyor and feeder systems. You will serve as the key onsite interface between the equipment manufacturer and facility, keeping teams aligned on progress, priorities, issues, and project risks.

This is not a traditional desk-based Project Manager position. We are looking for a “boots on the ground” leader who is comfortable working directly on the production floor, chasing down blockers, coordinating teams, and driving issues to resolution in a highly demanding project environment.

Schedule:

7 days per week, approximately 12 hours per day (84 hours per week), with some project days potentially extending beyond 12 hours. This is an intensive project assignment requiring candidates who are prepared for extended hours, continuous onsite presence, and a demanding installation and commissioning schedule.

What You'll Do:

Serve as the primary onsite interface between the equipment manufacturer and Tesla throughout installation and commissioning.
Oversee and coordinate installation and commissioning activities across approximately 1,000 machining cells and associated conveyor and feeder systems.
Manage equipment arriving in various stages of completion, including machines requiring additional acceptance testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning onsite.
Track milestones against an aggressive project timeline and proactively identify and escalation risks and delays.
Take ownership of open issues and actively drive stakeholders toward resolution rather than waiting for direction.
Work directly with installation, electrical, automation, mechanical, and commissioning teams on the production floor.
Provide concise project status updates and clearly communicate progress, priorities, risks, and escalations to client management.
Maintain strong communication between the client and equipment manufacturer while helping manage expectations and protect project interests.
Support hands‑on problem‑solving wherever needed to keep installation and commissioning activities moving forward.

Wha t We're Looking For:

Experience in manufacturing equipment installation, commissioning, assembly, automation, robotics, electrical systems, or industrial project execution.
Previous experience as an Onsite Lead, Installation Lead, Team Lead, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, or similar role.
Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience is preferred.
A strong hands‑on mentality — you are a doer who takes initiative and does not wait for work to be assigned.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with aggressive timelines and changing priorities.
Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to managing multiple activities and open issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Fluent English and confidence communicating directly with client leadership, technical teams, suppliers, and contractors.
High resilience, flexibility, and drive.
