Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support machine installations, startups, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance activities across North America. This role requires hands-on problem solving with automated equipment and the ability to read schematics and work with PLCs.

You will travel 40–60% to customer sites, collaborating with Engineering, Controls, and Project Management teams, and contribute to FAT/SAT activities while training operators and documenting results.

Qualifications

2+ years of commissioning or field service experience.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs.
Travel 40-60% across North America; occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

Commission high-precision automated manufacturing equipment.
Perform machine startup, debugging, testing, and validation.
Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, HMI, servo, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Work alongside customers during installation and production launch.
Verify machine performance meets engineering specifications.
Support FAT and SAT activities.
Provide operator and maintenance training.
Document startup activities and service reports.
Collaborate with Engineering, Controls, Mechanical Assembly, and Project Management teams.
Identify process improvements to improve machine performance and reliability.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of commissioning, field service, controls, automation, or machine build experience
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment
PLC knowledge (Siemens or Allen-Bradley preferred)
Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently at customer facilities
Excellent communication skills
Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain one)
