Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic to join our federal team based at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, where you will maintain and service HVAC equipment across multiple buildings on the base. The role requires 5+ years of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain required DoD clearances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting and service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required government clearance; DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred.
• Mechanical Journeyman License.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance and service duties; inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve primarily HVAC mechanical problems, with some electrical and control issues.
• Respond to service and warranty calls.
• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair mechanical systems using a variety of tools and instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing, and cleaning of equipment.
• Recover, Reclaim, and Recharge refrigerant.
• Perform testing, collecting, and delivery of samples for analysis.
