Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems seeks an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic to support the Fort Devens, MA site, focused on maintenance and service of commercial and industrial HVAC systems across multiple buildings. Union 4 journeyman rate applies; day shift, Monday–Friday, with no travel off-site.

You will troubleshoot HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to service calls while ensuring compliance with government clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC troubleshooting and service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance; background/character, work history, education, financial/credit and criminal history checks. Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance and service duties; inspect, diagnose, service, repair and perform preventive maintenance on commercial/industrial HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC mechanical problems.
• Respond to service and warranty calls.
• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair mechanical systems using a variety of tools and instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment.
• Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and deliver samples for analysis.
