Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic to join our federal team supporting Fort Devens, MA. You will maintain and service HVAC mechanical and control systems across multiple buildings on the site.

This union-based, full-time role offers union benefits and the chance to work within a Fortune 500 company on DoD-related facilities. A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting and service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance; active DoD Secret or Top Secret preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance and service duties; inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repair and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoots and resolves HVAC mechanical problems.
• Responds to service & warranty calls.
• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair mechanical systems using a variety of tools and instruments.
• Perform specified preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment.
• Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and deliver samples for analysis
