Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an HVAC Controls Engineer to join an engineering team in Chelmsford, MA. The role involves programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting BAS and HVAC control systems for commercial and industrial facilities.

You will collaborate with software engineers, technicians, and project teams, supporting projects from design through startup and turnover. This is a fully onsite position in Chelmsford for a candidate eager to learn and grow in building automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience with BAS/BMS in commercial or industrial facilities.
• Experience programming or configuring HVAC controls, PLCs, or automation systems.
• Experience with BACnet communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Siemens, Delta Controls, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Tridium Niagara, or similar platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sequences of operations, and construction documents.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; team-oriented.
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week in Chelmsford, MA.

Responsibilities

• Program and configure HVAC control systems and BAS platforms.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and sequences of operation.
• Support commissioning and startup activities for HVAC and utility systems.
• Troubleshoot controls, networks, and automation-related issues.
• Assist with BACnet network configuration and integration.
• Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
• Participate in customer meetings and project reviews.
• Support construction and service teams during project execution.
• Develop and maintain automation system documentation.
• Assist in delivering projects from design through commissioning and turnover.
