Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Fords, NJ, is seeking an intermediate HSSE professional to own PSM compliance elements and lead audits in a 24/7 chemical plant. You will coordinate with the Environmental Manager and site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong auditing, coaching, and communication skills, with a focus on incident investigations, training, and regulatory interface. Join a team dedicated to safety, compliance, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years HSSE experience in the chemical industry.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and RC 14001 preferred.
• Knowledge of NJ laws and regulations.
• Auditing experience leading to resource assignment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coach, train and advise at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead PSM compliance for training, contractor safety, permits, and emergency planning in a 24/7 plant.
• Support PSM elements including PHA, MOC, incident investigation, audits, and start-up reviews.
• Analyze results, trend data, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Influence site leadership to drive HSSE performance.
• Interface with regulators and manage regulatory visits and submissions.
• Lead internal/external audits and support site leadership.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update HSSE management systems.
• Lead incident investigations and share learnings.
• Maintain licenses/permits and emission monitoring and waste management.
• Develop Emergency Response Program and secure work environment.
