Job summary

Sur La Table in Brownsburg, Indiana seeks an HR Manager for the Distribution Center. You will run full-cycle recruiting, manage onboarding, and handle workforce administration for a large hourly workforce.

Partner with leadership to ground decisions in data and ensure compliant HR operations on-site. You will own leave processes, safety training coordination, and employee relations while delivering timely workforce reporting to BDC leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience; distribution center or warehouse background strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including high-volume and seasonal hiring.
• Working knowledge of FMLA and leave of absence administration.
• Solid understanding of federal and state employment law.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems; Paylocity experience a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities without losing track of details.
• Clear, confident communicator in writing and in person.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

Responsibilities

• Run full-cycle recruiting for BDC roles — posting, screening, offers, and Day 1 clearance.
• Manage temp staffing operations, onboarding/offboarding, and hours submission.
• Own the new hire experience end to end — orientation, system/document readiness, Day 1 readiness, and 15/45/90-day check-ins.
• Manage attendance tracking, timecard edits, call‑off docs, and policy enforcement.
• Own the leave of absence process with AbsencePro — handling communications, approvals, and follow-ups.
• Provide first-response on workers' comp claims and escalate complex cases to Sr. HR Manager.
• Pull and report on completion and rating data; keep leadership informed on timelines.
• Coordinate monthly safety topics, annual training, and LMS compliance reporting.
• Produce HR reports (headcount, rosters, terminations, OSHA, attendance) and drive action from findings.
• Lead recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and exit interviews to translate findings into action.
• Serve as on-site HR point of contact for employees/managers; maintain Paylocity records.
