Job summary

Sur La Table in Brownsburg, IN is seeking an HR Manager for the Distribution Center to run full-cycle recruiting, manage the employee lifecycle, and ensure compliance and safety. You will be the on-site HR partner, delivering workforce reporting to BDC leadership and enabling data-driven decisions.

In this role you will streamline recruiting/onboarding, own attendance and leave processes, and build strong relationships with hourly employees and managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience; distribution center or warehouse background preferred.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including high-volume and seasonal hiring.
• Working knowledge of FMLA and leave administration.
• Solid understanding of federal and state employment law.
• Ability to translate AI capabilities into business outcomes to improve decision quality and workforce effectiveness.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems; Paylocity experience a plus.
• Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities without losing detail.
• Clear, confident communicator in writing and in person.
• Onsite availability five days per week; hours may vary by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for BDC roles, including posting, screening, offers, and Day 1 clearance.
• Manage temp staffing operations, onboarding/offboarding, and hours submission.
• Own the new hire experience end-to-end and conduct structured 15/45/90-day check-ins.
• Oversee attendance tracking, timecard edits, and policy enforcement.
• Own leave of absence process in partnership with AbsencePro; address workers' comp claims.
• Pull and share monthly safety, training, and LMS compliance reports.
• Produce HR reports (headcount, separations, OSHA, attendance) and translate data insights for leadership.
• Run recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and on-site events; conduct exit interviews.
• Serve as day-to-day HR point of contact and maintain accurate Paylocity records.
