Job summary

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking an HR Intern to support a diverse HR function for about 125 staff and 400 seasonal workers. The role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, training, policy development, and benefits work.

The internship is 12 weeks, part-time (up to 21 hours/week), with a pay rate of $13.75/hour. Location is Virginia-area with onsite requirements; remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate study.
• Graduate students and recent graduates are eligible.
• Career-changers currently enrolled in a degree program may apply.
• International students (J-1 or F-1) are eligible.
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit job requisitions and post open positions on internal and external job boards
• Prepare offer letters, initiate onboarding and background checks
• Assist with new hire orientations, staff trainings, and policy development
• Assist in benefit plan renewals and Open Enrollment
• Make recommendations and updates to the staff intranet
• Research and analyze HR best practices; develop new programs
• Provide administrative support to HR team
• Other duties as assigned
