Job summary

Backcountry is seeking an on-site HR Generalist for our Utah Fulfillment Center to own the full people function for a high-volume hourly workforce. You will shape culture, retention, and operational performance, partnering with FC leaders on staffing, onboarding, and employee relations.

You will drive onboarding, retention goals, training, compliance, and HR operations, reporting monthly metrics to site leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
2–4 years in HR Generalist or related role in a fulfillment/logistics.
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR fundamentals.
Support hourly and salaried frontline employees in a high-paced environment.
Proactive communicator who builds trust across all levels.
Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and retention.
Experience with HRIS systems and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Serve as a key HR partner to FC leaders on day-to-day people operations.
Lead local onboarding efforts, ensuring a welcoming and consistent new hire experience.
Champion the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to development milestones and recognition.
Design and deliver supervisor training and development programs.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance documentation.
Create and share monthly HR metrics with site leadership.
