Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. in Detroit is seeking an HR Business Partner to join the Forgings HR team onsite at our World Headquarters in Detroit, MI. This role supports HR strategies and workforce initiatives in a global manufacturing environment.

The HRBP will provide expertise in employee relations, coaching, and workforce planning, partnering with functional leaders to align people priorities with business goals. Experience with Workday and HRIS is expected, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or psychology; master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in HR in global medium/large org; HRBP experience preferred.
• Experience with HR processes and HRIS (Workday or similar).
• Travel willingness and customer-centric mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provides HR expertise in employee relations, coaching, and workforce planning.
• Partners with leaders to align people strategies with business goals.
• Supports core HR processes across COEs (Talent, Compensation, Benefits).
• Facilitates onboarding and offboarding activities.
• Drives standardization and policy implementation; analyzes data to improve HR metrics.
