Job summary

The Judge Group seeks an experienced HIM Manager in Austin to lead daily Health Information Management operations, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance while guiding a team and coordinating with clinical, compliance, IT, and client stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in medical records management, HIPAA, release of information, staff leadership, and EHR systems, with a focus on performance improvement and workflow optimization to support service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in Health Information Management or related healthcare operations.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy, and record-retention practices.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with HIM technology, EHR, document imaging, and release of information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day HIM operations and supervise staff.
• Ensure SLAs, productivity, quality, and turnaround targets are met.
• Develop procedures, workflows, and training for HIM functions.
• Oversee medical record completion, scanning, indexing, and release of information.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and readiness for audits and reviews.
• Lead process-improvement initiatives and present dashboards to leadership.
• Collaborate with clinical, compliance, IT, revenue cycle, and client teams.
