Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/experience.
• Eight years of HIM experience or equivalent education/training.
• RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong knowledge of medical records procedures and compliance.
• Experience in document imaging, prepping or scanning.
• Good organization and interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication; ability to work with all staff levels.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the Health Information Management department.
• Oversee workflow, performance metrics, and staff development.
• Update policies and assist with regulatory-compliant policy creation.
• Coordinate daily activities and adjust workloads as needed.
• Develop and coordinate HIM compliance education and training.
