Job summary
Veolia in North America is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician to support client facilities with hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
The role includes managing waste needs on site, maintaining safety procedures, and completing required DOT/EPA paperwork. A Bachelor's in Environmental Science and OSHA Hazwoper certification are required, with 2–4 years of related experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 2-4 years of industry-related experience and customer service preferred.
- Strong leadership and teamwork; project/time management skills.
- Proficiency with Google Office.
- OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper Certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional image with clients and propose solutions.
- Manage onsite hazardous and non-hazardous waste needs per contract.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Prepare and process all DOT/EPA paperwork for waste disposal.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely to complete projects on time.
- Understand and follow contract terms for assignments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Support storage, household hazardous waste, lab activities, and waste handling.
