Job summary

Moderna is seeking an Engineer II at our Norwood, MA facility to lead and optimize manufacturing processes. You will provide direct engineering support for GMP equipment, drive improvements, and collaborate with MS&T, Facilities, Validation, and End Users to meet project objectives.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, CAPA/Change Controls, CMMS asset care, and adherence to SOPs, with on-site responsibilities and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Education: BS or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Facilities, Engineering, or Operations.
• Specific Certifications or Training: None

Responsibilities

• Provide direct engineering support for process equipment at Norwood, MA (e.g., Ultrafiltration, Chromatography, Fermenters, CIP, Isolators, Packaging Lines).
• Reduce manufacturing events and batch excursions by ensuring optimal equipment function.
• Own and complete small to medium-sized projects with timelines.
• Participate in design, procurement, installation, start-up, validation, and qualification of facilities/equipment.
• Respond to alarms and OOS/OOT conditions and perform product impact assessments.
