Job summary

Moderna in Norwood, MA seeks an Engineer II for Operations Science and Technology to transfer processes from bench to pilot scale and generate DNA/RNA/LNP/DP for development and tox studies. This onsite role reports to the Technology Center campus and emphasizes independent execution with cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead batches, troubleshoot in real time, and drive process robustness while documenting SOPs and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical discipline.
• 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or minimal experience with a Master’s degree.
• This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects related to DNA/RNA/LNP/DP processes and tech transfer.
• Serve as batch lead and troubleshoot in real time to ensure successful outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support tech transfer and process robustness.
• Distill and communicate batch data to inform process improvements.
• Author and optimize SOPs and protocols, and support training of team members.
